Mentorship
A mentor can be a valuable source of advice and an insightful guide to the business world, a potential contact for the future and a personal friend. This is a great chance to establish one-on-one links with industry executives.

The mentorship scheme invites directors, CEOs and senior managers of well-established organizations in areas of Banking, Finance and Investment, Accounting and Auditing, Insurance, Logistics Management, Information Technology, Public Authorities, Healthcare, etc., to serve as mentors to RMBI students. The scheme helps students to bridge the gap between academic theory and business practice through discussion, guidance and insights into problem solving, innovative thinking, management and leadership issues. It can also establish an invaluable bond which brings long-term knowledge-sharing and friendship between mentors and mentees.

Currently, there are over 80 mentors associated with RMBI, including but not limited to those affiliated with:
  • AIA

Apart from inviting industrial professionals, RMBI program launched the Peer Mentorship program in the year of 2017. It serves to provide non-academic support and advice to all new students admitted under both program-based admission and school-based admission schemes. Our peer mentors are the RMBI senior students (Year 3 and Year 4) who volunteer their time to help RMBI new students, they will work as a team with RMBI program to help new students settle into HKUST. We hope to build strong bonding between the senior and junior RMBI students, and establish a close-tied, ever-growing RMBI community.

Objectives
  • Facilitate freshmen to adapt to university life and study by peer support network
  • Provide support and information about the campus resources and life at HKUST
